Ascaso factory S.A was born in 1962 in Barcelona and specialised in the manufacture of components for espresso coffee machines. Ascaso has 45 years of experience in the espresso world, starting with Jesus Ascaso building the first Gaggia Espanola in 1952. In recent years the company have begun to sell machines, first under the Innova brand and now under their original name, Ascaso.
In 1901, Luigi Bezzera invented the first 'espresso coffee', and the machine that made it. In 1952, our founding partner Jess Ascaso began to get involved with the then infant world of espresso coffee.
